What a turnover covers between guests
A turnover resets the home to a standard the host sets, from the way the throw pillows go on the bed to which cupboard a replacement roll of paper towels sits in. We work from the host's list, in the order the host wants it done.
1. The host's list first
Before the first turnover, we go through the host's list with the host: what gets reset, where the supplies live, how left items get held, how damage is reported, and which cupboard holds the fresh linens. Every turnover after that starts from the same box and the same list.
2. Beds stripped and remade
Every bed gets stripped to the mattress. Fresh linens come from the host's own stock, and we remake the bed the way the host wants it: envelope folds, decorative pillows, the throw folded at the foot. The mattress protector, pillow protectors and the pillows themselves get checked for stains that need a swap. We do not run a laundry service for guest linens; whether the linens get laundered at the unit or at a service is the host's call.
3. Kitchen reset
Dishes washed, counters cleared and wiped, the sink scrubbed, cabinet pulls and the fronts of the appliances wiped. The outside of the range, the stovetop, the oven window, drip pans and the inside of the microwave get a wipe each turnover. The fridge gets a wipe each time, with the shelves pulled out when a spill needs it. The host says on the call whether to pull anything the last guest left or to keep what is in date.

4. Bathrooms
Towels and floor mats off, trash out, shower or tub cleaned, toilet cleaned, vanity and mirror done top down. The drain cleared of hair. Fresh towels folded the way the host set, toilet paper restocked, the next roll tipped the way the pictures show. Amenity bottles topped from the supply closet when they run low.
5. Floors and surfaces
Floors vacuumed and spot-mopped where mops belong, including the entry runner, the kitchen floor, the bathroom floor and the rug by the door. Area rugs reset so the corners line up with the listing pictures. Surfaces wiped at hand height; smudges on glass and chrome at eye level.
6. Trash, recycling and compost into the home's bins
What we collect goes into the home's own blue, green and black bins the way the household sorts them. In a stacked building, trash and recycling go to the spot the host told us to use and nowhere else.
7. Left items and anything damaged, reported the host's way
Guests leave things, from a charger plugged in behind the bed to a book someone meant to pack. We bag what is left behind, label it with the checkout date, and hold it where the host asked. Damage is reported through the channel the host already uses.
| Turnover task | Every turnover | Every few turnovers |
|---|---|---|
| Beds | Strip and remake from the host's linens | Check protectors for a swap |
| Bathrooms | Full reset, towels, amenities, mirror, floor | Behind the toilet, inside the vanity, shower door tracks |
| Kitchen | Dishes, counters, sink, appliance fronts, inside microwave | Inside the oven, inside the cabinets |
| Floors | Vacuum and spot-mop | Full mop with baseboards wiped |
| Soft surfaces | Rugs reset, visible pet hair pulled | Wipe-down on hard-surface furniture |
| Windows | Smudges at hand height | Full inside pass with sills and tracks |
The host decides which items run every turnover and which rotate across several.
Every turnover, and every few turnovers
The host's own list decides. This is a common place to start.
Every turnover
- Beds made with the linens the host leaves.
- Kitchen and bathroom reset.
- Floors and the bins.
Every few turnovers
- Inside the fridge and oven.
- Baseboards and blinds.
- Windows from the inside.
When a turnover fits, and when another service does
When this is the right page
The unit is a short-term rental, the host rents it between stays, and the reset follows the host's list each time.
When another service fits
A long gap between bookings or a reset after a slower season is often the right time for a deep clean between seasons, since the deep clean reaches the oven, the fridge, the baseboards and the grout, which an everyday turnover does not include. If the host wants a one-off visit before a photo shoot or an inspection, a one time cleaning covers it without touching the turnover schedule. If the host owns a condo or an apartment in a mid-rise, apartments and condos covers what the building side changes. For the host's own home as a resident, see the host's own regular cleaning.
What the visit covers for a turnover
Every item on your checklist, in the order you want it done, with your linens and your supplies. Beds, bathrooms, kitchen, floors, soft surfaces, and a walkthrough at the end so what the next guest sees lines up with the listing. For what a standard visit covers, the base is the same room-by-room work; a turnover is that work plus the reset to the listing's standard.
Products are a conversation on the first call. We go over what the host wants used, what a sensitive guest or a specific finish rules out, and what to flag when stock is running low. Bleach is never mixed with ammonia, vinegar or another cleaner.
